The Department of Clothing & Textiles possesses an academic system based on which students investigate and reconstitute the historical changes shown in the culture of clothing. The comprehensive study of modern clothing and textiles is organically related to society, economics, the arts, science and technology so as to contribute to the enhancement of human life with respect to both practicality and culture. In this course of study, students will be cultivated to become experts of this field according to trends of the 21st Century by professionally looking into globalization, individualization and sophistication of clothing and textiles.
Students are encouraged to study other related fields such as aesthetics, economics and business administration to develop a firm foundation of professional knowledge. In particular, students are required to study and master a second foreign language and computer literacy.
Lectures on this course include various experiments and practices along with theory, thus students are able to achieve their goals in the clothing industry if they have interest and passion. Furthermore, this course welcomes anyone who possesses an open mind, adaptability, creativity and esthetic sense.
