The course is divided into Fashion Marketing, Dress Aesthetics & Design, Clothing Construction, Costume Design & Oriental Fashion Aesthetics and Textile Science.
Students will observe the transition of fashion based on art styles and aesthetic values of western culture with modern views, and study the modern fashion culture arts in depth in order to develop professional skills of fashion designers.
Students will understand the rational relation between human body and costume, and learn about the basic principles and construction elements of clothing to realize and understand clothing as a three-dimensional construction based on its design elements and principles. Students will also perform practical work on this topic.
Students will develop expressivity skills regarding fashion material planning and material development through practical classes on color dyeing, processing, weaving and knitting existing materials and new materials.
In this study, students will investigate the aesthetic recognition, design elements and principles of costume structure, and observe by applying costume characteristics to aesthetic sense and the philosophy of art. Moreover, students will look at various trends of modern fashion and understand the artistic concept of the origin of oriental costume culture so as to apply this understanding to modern fashion for developing various designing skills for professional fashion design.
Students will study the roles of buyers, types and functions of the fashion retail trade, development of fashion images, consumer plan for fashion products, sales promoting advertisements, promotional activities and consumer behavior by focusing on the structure of the fashion industry and the theory of fashion planning.
