Currently, the Department of Food & Nutrition is conducting a multifaceted research on the topic of everyone's interest; health. By studying pharmacological effects of traditional foods and other useful properties of foods, the department endeavors to develop and globalize traditional foods with lectures on theory and practice, and on traditional royal foods. In addition, the study investigates illnesses and various foods that can treat the illnesses, and the appropriate ways of processing foods. The study educates students to apply science to dietary lifestyle, rationalize it through research on food and nutrition, and produces female technicians and experts in the field to lead and guide reasonable dietary lives according to the demands of the 21st Century.
Graduate courses in this field are strengthened to meet the needs of modern society, and students are able to relate to other fields of study. Through the graduate course, students study the professional field of food and nutrition.
Food and nutrition is a study related to mankind, thus the department makes contributions to the community by suggesting dietary therapies, models for eating habits and details dietary and nutrition regimens to prevent illnesses such as diabetes and high blood pressure. Recently, with the increasing interest in health, the value and contribution from the study of food and nutrition are also rising.
