The Sookmyung Japanese Computer Club (S.J.C.C.), which commenced its activity in March 2003, is an organization in which students study various computer-related topics in Japanese. The goal is to take and pass various computer certification examinations currently administered in Japan, and in order to achieve this goal, club members study in the office of the assigned professors one hour per week. Since all the textbooks are in Japanese, and the computers have Japanese Windows XP, students may study not just the computer, but also the Japanese language. For license exams, there are 1) MOUS (Ms Office Specialist), which is internationally certified by Microsoft, 2) P檢, which tests comprehensive ability to operate the computer, 3) ".com master," which tests knowledge about the Internet. There are more exams in addition to the ones listed above. Members choose the exam and prepare for it. In the past three years, most members concentrated on "Word" and "Excel" in "MOUS," which are all accepted in Korea. Furthermore, starting this semester, for students who may not be versed in the Japanese language enough to study from Japanese textbooks, we have installed software that enables practicing the Japanese keyboard, allowing students to familiarize themselves with the Japanese keyboard in advance. We accept 15 new members at the beginning of each semester. Interested students should contact:
